A Biography (Lyrics)

The prose this Lyric is based off of: "A Biography"

ree

I am superfluous in every way,

Talking in overtones of color and decay.

Dramatic emotions spill across the floor,

Ideas that never meet, but ache to mean more.

Every metaphor’s a mirror, every sentence bleeds,

A tangle of reflection, a garden full of weeds.

I am nothing but stories over time,

Wounds that hardened into rhyme.

Hold my chaos, hold my flame,

I’m never twice the same.

I’m a contrarian, darling, by design,

You build a road, I cross the line.

Ask me to flow and I’ll freeze in stone,

Call me home and I’ll be gone.

Curved punctuation, life styled to bold,

Minimal drama, but theatre unfolds.

I am nothing but stories over time,

Wounds that hardened into rhyme.

Hold my chaos, hold my flame,

I’m never twice the same.

Meet me in paradox, trembling and true,

Flux is my faith, and I’ll share it with you.

Look in my eyes, there’s no plan, no disguise,

Only the tide that refuses to rise.

I am nothing but stories over time,

Scars that whisper, "You’ll be fine."

Truth is a myth I’ve redefined,

But I keep telling it, line by line.
